Are you wondering what to do this coming weekend? There is always something going in in Franklin, and this weekend is no different. It is time for all to come and enjoy the Bluegrass Event in Franklin, Tennessee. Bluegrass along the Harpeth Fiddlers Jamboree is coming to downtown Franklin this Friday and Saturday, July 22-23rd.
Located at the historic Williamson County Courthouse, there will be a bandstand set up and chairs for spectators. Special guest David Travis and the Howling Brothers, along with Hands of Time will be playing for the event. The annual competition begins 11:00 on Saturday morning and last all day until 10:00 p.m. Now that is a lot of bluegrass playing! The competitors will compete in flat-top guitar, dulcimer, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and old-time banjo, freestyle clog and buck-dancing, beginner freestyle clogging, beginner musician, old-time string band, bluegrass bands, old-time singing, and Sr. fiddle competition.
It does not matter if you can play an instrument or just tap your toe, there will be fun for all. The entire family will enjoy the festivities including music and dance and learn more about our deep bluegrass roots here in Franklin, TN.
While you are there, shop at the craft show and food booths! There will be over thirty craft booths on display and a variety of food vendors, so plan to make a day out of it!
