Four Ideas Selected to Redevelop the Tennessee State Fairgrounds Property
A story in theTennessean newspaper today reported four ideas selected by the fair board to revamp the 117-acre Nashville Tennessee State Fairgrounds site include a film studio complex and public entertainment venue that would "capture the look and feel of Universal Studios Hollywood — only without the rides and with a project pipeline loaded with films targeted at heartland audiences." The pitch being made to redevelop the Tennessee State Fairgrounds by Woodland, Calif.-based Tower Investments consists of "building what amounts to a film-studio lot — which would include retail, a hotel and a 5,000-7,000-seat indoor music venue, as well as an attached film school……"
Three other proposals reported in the Tennessean to develop the Tennessee State Fairgrounds property off Nolensville Road in Nashville TN are:
A mixed-use town center, with housing for sale and rent, along with retail space and offices. Developers said green spaces, community gathering places, schools and libraries could also be included.
A multifaceted motor sports and entertainment complex that could include racing, a baseball stadium, a water park, a hotel, an amphitheater, an RV resort, pavilions and an entertainment district. The conservancy also proposes a $158 million investment in development and would build upon auto racing at the site.
A mixed-use development with office, retail and residential components.
